404 resource not found trying to run install

I've followed Steps 1 and 2 in the installation guide - downloaded the app and unzipped, and copied the files to the server (which took a marathon 8+ hours over my pathetic satellite connection ) and changed the folder privileges as instructed.

Now I'm at step 3 - I try to navigate to https://www.wocv.org.au/admidio/index.php via the browser to run the installer script and all I get is a 404 error "The resource requested could not be found on this server!"

I can go no further with the install. What's the solution please?

This has been solved by the discovery of another forum post that gave me a clue. Perhaps you could update the installation instructions to tell newbies to copy the admidio folder to /public_html.

There is also a basic flaw in the unzip folder process as it creates an admidio/admidio folder and until I moved all the files up one level on the server it wouldn't work either.

Now to start using!

This is now driving me crazy.

I have indeed as suggested adjusted the file structure to not have a admidio/admidio folder . Followed instructions to the letter, set correct permissions, but simply don't get to installer

I only get "Page not found" when calling for https://kellstennisclub.ie/admidio/index.php

Also can't call install dialog directly thru https://kellstennisclub.ie/admidio/adm_ ... /index.php

Moved folders to both httpdocs and tried http://kellstennisclub.ie/admidio/index.php , but same result.

Any idea what I am doing wrong ??

Have you tried to Open other webpages within your webspace? Is it only admidio that would Not find pages or other applications too?

This is also driving me crazy, I have put the admidio folder in the public folder as suggested above and still the same 404 page not found error.

Does anyone have a solution for this installation problem?
