I must admit, that I am not quite familiar with the ADMIDIO package yet, so please enlighten me, if I ask for or suggest something that is already possible. I have looked in the documentation and have explored the system, but I have some questions/suggestions :
You can attach a user to one or more roles. For me, this should also mean, that credentials should follow the roles.
I can't find out how to attach a list to a role - or where to define which lists/views a user should have access to.
- Where do one define which lists or views a user should have access to ?
It is a smart thing, ( but it is not so smart that users anyway are allowed to se other participants via the view - this is not logical )that You ( when creating an event ) can define if users are allowed to see a participation list, but I can't find out how to define my own participation list as the ONLY list the users should see when they are allowed to see the participation list.
- Is this possible - and how ?
I am looking for a way to define a users acces to a list via a connection between user-role and role-list or user-role-list. Am I on the right track, or have I completely misunderstood the meaning of roles ?
Maybe my two/three questions are the same - it is not transparent for me - I am still rather new to this software.
Kind regards

connecting lists and users ( via roles ? )
Re: connecting lists and users ( via roles ? )
Additional
I can see that on a list You can set role(s).
I have tried to create a user and attach user to a new role ( only ).
Then I have made the address list not-available to all and only to "members" role.
Then logged in as the newly created user, and click on an event that has show-participation available.
Then clicked on the list ( It should be the address list ? ) and the list is shown. I would have guessed that no list would have been shown, as this list was not available to the role "vinklub" and the user is ONLY member of the "vinklub".
So I guessed that there WAS a link ( permission ) via the role, but this seems not to be the situation.
Therefore my question(s)
Kind regards

Re: connecting lists and users ( via roles ? )
It seems that there is something going on with the lists and views for events.
I can see a : Enhancements to roles and lists #506
And a : New preference to enable/disable list module #505
I guess that these issues addresses some of what I am asking for.
I hope that the "configuration" will be possible on event-level, as it will be dependent on the event/eventowner, how much You want the other users/participants to see via views/lists.
I nearly can't wait to see the ver. 3.3 - I think it will improve the event handling, and hopefully in later versions, the event-system will be further enhanced.

Re: connecting lists and users ( via roles ? )
Some short explaination:
- with roles you set the permissions which other or own profile users could view.
- lists are only a special "view" to a role where you have the permission to view the users.
So if you have the right to view a role, you can have x lists the user can choose or select.
Hope this will explain it.
